Great White Shark { BACK TO SEA FRIENDZ }

The Great White Shark is one of our most misunderstood Sea Friendz. Many people fear that they can easily become a Great White’s breakfast! When in fact there are more people killed around the world every year by falling coconuts than Great White Sharks.

  • Sharks have been around for 350 million years
  • Favorite food: sea lions and seals (yikes!)
  • A baby shark is called a pup and most don't survive their first year!
  • Adult sharks are super fast and can swim up to 40 mph!
  • They can weigh over 4,000 pounds and their skin can feel like sandpaper
  • Sharks are not mammals, but cartilaginous fish. This means their skeletons are made up of cartilage, not bone
